Rename the displayed clan name

Before you rename the clan

Only the active clan leader can change the displayed clan name. Admins and officers can review the current name and stable identity details, but they cannot submit a rename. Members do not see this Settings destination. The demo clan is read-only.

The display name is not the clan's technical identity. Renaming changes the name people read throughout Runekist. It deliberately does not change:

• the stable clan slug or clan URL;
• current or historical alias rows;
• collector or profile identifiers;
• Discord, Telegram, Total Battle chat, API, billing, or other integration identity.

Existing bookmarks and integrations therefore continue to use the same clan address.

To change the technical address instead, follow Change the clan URL alias. That separate leader-only action requires a fully paused collector, typed confirmation, and acceptance of the seven-day grace and clean-next-Screeny-run consequences.

Rename the displayed clan name

1. Confirm that the clan shown at the top of the dashboard is the clan you intend to rename.
2. Open Leadership → Settings → Clan name.
3. Compare the current display name with the stable clan slug and URL shown beside it.
4. Enter a name between 2 and 120 characters. Runekist removes surrounding spaces when you save.
5. Select Save clan name.

Runekist confirms the change and refreshes the current dashboard immediately. Other open dashboards for the same clan refresh their displayed identity too. The address in the browser stays unchanged.

Confirm the result

Check the clan name in the dashboard shell and page title. Refresh another name-reading page if it was already open outside the dashboard. Confirm that the browser still uses the same /c/<clan-slug>/… address and that connected collectors and integrations still identify the same clan.

The rename is recorded in Runekist's audit history with the acting leader, clan, previous name, and new name.

Troubleshoot a rename

• If the form says the name is required, enter visible text rather than spaces.
• If the form reports a length error, use between 2 and 120 characters.
• If the form is read-only, confirm that your membership is active and that you are the current clan leader for this exact clan.
• If you are viewing the demo clan, switch to a clan where you have an active leader membership.
• If an old name remains in another open dashboard, allow its targeted refresh to complete or refresh that page. Do not create a new clan or change an alias to force the display name to update.
