Step 1 - Install the app
A Discord server admin clicks Add Runekist to Discord, chooses the Discord server, and approves the app.
They do not have to be a Runekist clan member to install the app.
Discord integration
Runekist's Discord app gives members private chest progress lookups and gives leaders and officers private clan lookup tools.
Who needs to do what?
Step 1 - Install the app
A Discord server admin clicks Add Runekist to Discord, chooses the Discord server, and approves the app.
They do not have to be a Runekist clan member to install the app.
Step 2 - Verify the app responds
In Discord, run /rk ping.
The first response may say the server is not connected to a Runekist clan yet. That is expected until setup is completed.
Step 3 - Finish setup in Runekist
A Runekist clan leader/superior/admin with setup access signs in to Runekist and links their Discord account with /rk link.
Linking identifies the setup admin's Discord account. It does not choose the clan mapping by itself.
Step 4 - Choose the Discord mapping
Whole Discord server -> one Runekist clan
Use this when the Discord server only belongs to one clan.
Discord role -> Runekist clan
Use this when one Discord server contains several clans.
Discord roles choose the Runekist clan context only. Runekist membership still decides whether the user is member, officer, superior, leader, or allowed to change setup.
Step 5 - Members link themselves
Members run /rk link, then use /rk me, /rk reqs, and /rk top.
Server commands are used inside the Discord server. Members can also DM the Runekist bot for private lookups after linking.
If a member belongs to multiple Runekist clans, the bot will ask them to choose which clan their private DM should use.
Public posting is only available inside a Discord server, not in DMs.
Step 6 - Test
After setup, /rk ping should show the mapped Runekist clan privately.
For family Discords, a user with the mapped Discord role should resolve to that role's Runekist clan.
